It was a nail biting final on Saturday night when approximately 11.4 million viewers saw Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey claim the title of Britain's Got Talent winners!

Pudsey is a six year old border collie, bichon frise and Chinese crested cross. As part of his prize he will now perform at the Royal Variety Performance for the Queen - a known dog lover with her collection of Corgis.

Ashleigh and Pudsey managed to pull of 3 flawless and unique performances throughout the competition and are now the proud owners of £500,000. Ashleigh says that one of the first things she will be buying him is a new lead after he lost one of his in the semi-finals.

Simon Cowell, who is the head Judge on the ITV talent show claims that Ashleigh and Pudsey were one of his favourite acts ever. He told them:

"I adore both of you. You have got better and better as the competition has progressed and to do what you did in such a short time is a miracle"

They pulled off their brilliant routine to the Mission Impossible theme with an array of dancing and jumps from Pudsey

If you missed their performance on Saturday night you can watch it again now:

It’s the start of the May Bank Holiday Weekend tomorrow and I hope you are as excited as we are! Long weekends are a great time to make the most of the country side and letting your dog stretch their legs and have a great walk. It can be hard finding a good dog walk sometimes that combines all the required elements such as terrain, space, views and variety. So we have written a list of the top 10 dog walks around the country for you to try out this weekend:

1. Glennifer Braes, Paisley – This walk has plenty of variety along it including open grassland and woodland. The terrain varies from flat to uphill terrain and there are many historical sites along the way as well as spectacular views. There is even a waterfall!

2. Cavehill, Belfast – This walk is more challenging with wild, unsurfaced paths leading you past caves and across moorland and meadows. There is a lot to be explored for both walker and dog and there are views to keep you going for miles around.

3. Danes Dyke, Bridlington – This walk takes you to the highest point of the southern headland, Breacon Hill. The terrain includes paths through fields and also some minor roads with a small amount of cliff top walking. The views are brilliant over the Bridlington Bay and along the low coastline of Holderness.

4. Llanelli Beach – This walk is situated on the 11 mile dog friendly Millennium coastal park. There are lots of different things to do and your dog will love the park and the beach. The visitor centre will even provide a water bowl for your dog if you ask.

5. Queen’s Wood, London – This walk is so peaceful you will barely believe you are in London. The forest is fairly small so you are likely to meet many other dog walkers. There is a large playing field and also a children’s area for any little ‘uns that need entertaining!

6. Bamburgh Beach, Northumberland – This walk is overlooked by the impressive Bamburgh Castle. The beach offers over a mile of flat sand for dogs to play on. With great views of Lindisfarne and Holy Island the walk can be enjoyed by everyone.

7. Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire – Silk Wood covers two thirds of the Arboretum which can be explored on foot or by paw. These stunning woods provide light and shade and extraordinary trees and plants. A water bowl for your dog is also available at the visitors centre.

8. Thetford Forest, East Anglia – This patchwork of heathland and pines is ideal for a dog walking day. There is something for everyone in this peaceful and tranquil location with trails to explore and a large grass area.

9. Haughmond Hill, Shrewsbury – With views over Shrewsbury and four walking trails this is a great walk for everyone. There is a car park and a café as well as a permanent orienteering course. You will meet lots of dogs and people along the way. There are lots of picnic tables too so you can always take some lunch along too.

10. Ideford Common, Devon – This walk takes place on a beautiful terrain of both heath land and forest. With a network of footpaths around the common there is lots to explore and a great area to run around in.

Where ever you end up taking your dog for a walk please make sure you always have control of them and observe any wildlife signs. Always clean up after them and make sure they have enough water.

We would love to see any pictures of your dogs enjoying their walks, and if you have any great British dog walks you think we have missed, then don't hesitate to let us know about them - have a fantastic bank holiday weekend :)
