That's right, although he was trending on networking sites such as Twitter as "Benton" for an entire day, this rascal of a dog is actually called Fenton.
Before we get too far into this post, for those who haven't seen the wild behaviour of lovable Fenton, whose video spread so fast virally you would have thought Brad Pitt had been caught streaking in Richmond Park, here it is:
Fenton and his owner Max became a huge internet sensation after they were captured by a 13 year old boy in Richmond park who was filming on his mobile phone. The video has now been watched by over 2.5 million people and is also now being used as a mobile phone ringtone!
As you can see, the clip begins with some deer running on screen with a man off screen shouting after a dog. Within seconds, Fenton then appears charging towards the deer with Max running and swearing behind him.
Max is an architect and father of 2 but he refuses to give his surname as he was concerned he may get in trouble for breaking the rules on controlling pets in Royal Parks. It has been reported that Fenton, a black lab cross, had been given up by Guide Dogs for the Blind as unsuitable for retention, and this video proves what a lively dog he can be. Max is supposedly horrified and has been considered renaming him if the fuss continues.
There have been some fabulous adaptations of the Fenton video, so we thought we would share a few of our favourites with you here:
